There is an engine in my body With every beat it lets me breathe There is a machine within my body If I could keep up with that machine that's in my body I could do anything, be anything, see anything I can feel the beat within my body
Brilliant eyes scanned the screen and the message she received. Danni smiled and hugged her knees to her chest. She loved how easily she could talk to this boy. She agreed to meet him up and she grinned. She looked around and then listened to her Cute Is What We Aim For music playing from her ipod on the stand beside her bed. Time was her favorite song from their new album. Danni didn't say much as she ran her hands through her hair and waited for a response from the boy. She was so glad she didn't have any more homework. From her room, she could see the stable, but it was very far away and rather small. She looked for her dark bay gelding, but she didn't see him. He was usually outside at this time, where she left him. However, some barn staff brought him in for the past few days. She was used to doing the work herself, but this school was rather interesting. She shrugged and looked at the bulletin board on the wall next to the window. It was huge and covered in pictures, but there was still a lot of room for more pictures.
Danni's laptop dinged as she signed out of instant messenger. She logged out of myspace.com and sighed quietly. She smiled to herself. She had just met a sweet guy who would be her new best friend. She had been here only a few days and she was starting to find her way around. She looked around the dorm room. Clothes were everywhere, seeing as she had yet to unpack her clothing. She shrugged and got off her bed, letting her feet touch the carpet only slightly for a few moments before she pulled herself to her feet. She looked at her reflection in the full-length mirror before going to the bathroom closet. She was unsure of what to wear. She groaned as she flipped through her clothes, her hand settling on her hip as the other one flipped. It was a tough decision, but in the end, she settled on a black and purple plaid shirt and a pair of dark wash jeans. She pulled her white Juicy Couture purse from the shelf at the top of the closet.
She grinned as she set the bag on her counter-top. She threw her Sidekick into her bag, making sure she didn't have any messages. Her wallet, keys, and camera went in next. She looked at her reflection as she pulled her bracelet onto her wrist. She smirked at herself as she fixed up her hair, sexing it up a bit. It was rather thin at the bottom and made the top of her hair look rather full and voluminous. Her eyeliner winged out as usual at the ends. Danni was satisfied before she dropped her makeup bag into the purse. She zipped it up and then went back to her room, looking around. She slipped on her black Vans and quickly made an exit, locking the door. She hummed to her iPod, playing Cute Is What We Aim For as usual in her one ear. Her habit of only using one ear bud and draping the other around her neck wasn't unusual for her. The iPod headphones were down her shirt and the actual iPod was fit snugly in her pocket so there was no way of anyone stealing her music machine.
As she headed towards the boys dorm area, doors were open everywhere. Boys were gathered in one room watching a movie and laughing. As she passed they looked up, and Danni quickly turned her head and kept walking. She heard some whistles from behind her, but she kept moving towards her destination. She became slightly lost and a sweet looking boy stood outside in the hall painting his door. "Eh...do you know where I can find Spenser's room?" she questioned softly. The boy nodded and gave her a small smile and pointed to the room. Four down from his. She thanked him and continued on her way. The door seemed to be open as she went straight in, but knocked and stood in the doorway. "Anyone home?" she giggled softly, looking around the room. The blue walls were cute and his room looked pretty nice, all-in-all. She hoped he was as nice as he was online.

-is too lazy to pretty up the post right now-
A distraction was exactly what the seventeen year old needed right about now, and that was just what Danni was coming over for. That and the most hardcore Oreo eating competition known to man kind. Maybe, just maybe, this girl could keep his mind of… that one girl and her forming offspring for a few hours. If she could manage that, well, then she would be his new hero. Yes, Danni could definitely prove to be just the kind of friend he needed at this point in his life. The circumstances that the two came together were impeccable, considering Danni needed a friend as much as Spenser did.
Sitting in his dorm room alone was what finally caused this realization. Normally, Spenser was never alone in his dorm room. Any other day of the year, he would have Adelaide in there with him, cuddling on the couch and watching a movie. Or he would have Steele over, or any other number of his friends for a little drunk madness. But not today. He just couldn’t bring himself to associate himself with any of his friends, because they all reminded him too much of Adelaide. And, of course, he couldn’t very well tell Adelaide to come over. By breaking up with her, he had completely severed all ties with her, even the ones that had secured their friendship. From the point where he was standing, Spenser could see no way to reconnect those strings that had sewn them together at the hip.
Blinking rapidly to clear away a few stray tears, Spenser slammed his laptop shut angrily. He was sick of crying. It seemed like that was all he had done the last month or two, and quite frankly he was fed up with it.
Getting up quickly from the couch and setting his computer on the coffee table in front of it, Spenser made his way to his room where he quickly applied his routine eyeliner. When he was finished, the male pulled a black and white horizontal striped hoodie over his bare chest and went back into the main room to wait for Danni to arrive. It didn’t take long for the black haired girl to stumble through the door, looking quite confused and out of place. Not bothering to stand up and greet the newcomer to his territory, Spenser merely turned his head and lobed an Oreo at her, hoping it would hit her in the general area of her head. True, it wasn’t the most friendly of greetings. But all the while Spenser had a grin plastered to his face, a sure sign that she was welcome.
”I see you managed to find my place easy enough. Now, would you like to take the grand tour or jus get straight to our competition?” Offering the girl a smile, Spenser pushed his body off of the couch and grabbed the open jar of peanut butter and Oreos. Placing them on the kitchen table, Spenser moved his body in front of Danni’s, reaching behind her to close the door.

There is an engine in my body With every beat it lets me breathe There is a machine within my body If I could keep up with that machine that's in my body I could do anything, be anything, see anything I can feel the beat within my body her outfit for sure : D
Danni's eyes scanned Spenser's room. Everything about it was cute. She smiled to herself and waited for him to turn around and when she actually saw his face she couldn't help but silently gasp. He was a cutie. She blinked rapidly as he threw an Oreo at her face and it hit her on the cheek. She quickly made a grab for it and caught it as it fell of her face. She flipped it over in her hands and tossed it back at him, watching as she got up off the couch and made his way towards her. His hoodie was cute. She wished she had one like that. She flipped her hair over her shoulder quickly and gaped at his body. He was tall and handsome, but she wouldn't say that. She shook her head, causing her brown hair to tousle itself. It was cute, the way she reacted. She wasn't used to being around guys like him or Steele. She pushed thoughts of her Steele from her brain.
Steele had been her number one man and was still in her Fave 5's, right behind her twin sister. She wanted to sigh, but seeing Spenser just threw those thoughts out the window. Spenser was cute, for sure. His question ran through her mind and it took her a few minutes to decide. They'd have time and right now, she wanted to get away from her guilt of not calling Steele, even though he should've stepped up to the plate and called Danni first. She groaned and shook her head, ignoring the butterflies in her stomach. She smirked at him and put her bag down, grabbing her Sidekick though. She shoved it into her pocket and then left the bag near the door in a safe place so it wouldn't get ruined. Her music was still playing in her ears and the song Lock Down Denial by CIWWAF played in her ears and it was like a challenge for her. The song was upbeat and fun. The brunette took his hand in hers and pulled him towards the couch he had been sitting on when she first came.
"You, me, and oreos. Now." she replied cooly. She gave him a cute look and sat down, pulling him with her. She looked around. His room was definitely not much different than hers, shape-wise. Her room was pretty simple too, but she definitely had more clothes tossed around and belongings strewn about. Her bed, also, was a canopy bed and it wasn't an open top. Danni shrugged though. She came here for the oreos and him, not for his bed. She snickered at the thought, but hid it well. She looked at him. "What are the rules?" she questioned. Her French accent was present in her voice, seeing as Danni was at a public school but it was a performing arts school and taking Theatre was fun because her accent wasn't made fun of. They had to learn accents and French and British were the easiest for the girl. Coming here to Dayton was hard because she feared people making fun of her accent.
She shook her head again, flinging her hair only slightly. She looked at the oreos expectantly. Danni's habit of playing with her bracelet was showing as she waited. She was definitely restless right now, especially since she had sat around all day and just ridden Phantom down at the barn. Danni's eyes flickered over his face, studying his bone structure and his eyeliner. It was cute. She hadn't seen a guy in eyeliner in forever and this was definitely a change. She loved it. Danni really thought it was different and adorable on him, especially since he seemed to know how to apply it better than a lot of girls she met. She wanted to laugh at that comment, but what kind of first impression would that leave if she laughed randomly when no one said anything. In the silence, you could hear her song playing in her ears even though the iPod wasn't turned up too loud. She dropped the bracelet, leaving it alone. She didn't want to seem too antsy.

Spenser had never been the kind of person to put a lot of effort into tidying up his room. After all, the room was his domain, no one else’s. There was no roommate to stay on friendly terms with, and now, he didn’t have a girlfriend to nag at him for having food strewn out on the counters and clothes piled in the corners. But even though he didn’t have people to tell him to pick up after himself, the seventeen year old refused to let his dorm get too ridiculously dirty. Every now and then he would pick up after himself simply for the fact that he didn’t exactly revel in the idea of having bugs crawling around on the floor uninvited.
It was strange, being close to another female so soon after the break-up. Without consent, Spenser had seemed to alienate himself from the female population because of what he had done. As it turned out, not many people approved of dumping your pregnant girlfriend with no apparent reason. Come to think of it, not many of the males at the school seemed to approve of his decision either. As much as he tried not to think of what he had done, every little thing that happened seemed to remind him of that day. Almost as if it was haunting him. Even reaching around Danni to shut the door had evoked an unwanted memory.
Shocked out of his thoughts when the girl grabbed his hand and pulled him to the couch, Spenser just barely managed to snatch up the container of Oreo’s from off the table he had just set them on. That was one thing he liked about this girl already, she was very forward and didn’t beat around the bush. It was only a matter of a few seconds before the two of them had plopped down on the couch, Spenser practically being pulled down into a sitting position. Watching the girl as she observed his room, Spenser raised one eyebrow when her eyes paused on his bedroom. If that was the only reason she came here, then she was shit out of luck. It was too soon to be thinking that way about, well, anyone.
But then her eyes continued surveying her surroundings, finally landing on Spenser’s face. For a moment, the two of them sat in silence and observed the other, taking in every detail. Laughing to himself when Danni continually flicked hair out of her face, Spenser commented on it. ”You’re going to give yourself whiplash if you don’t quit.” Almost as if by reaction to the sentence, Spenser quickly flicked his head to the side to relieve his vision from a stray piece of hair. Almost instantly after he had done so, the male furrowed his brow and pursed his lips together, obviously annoyed at himself for breaking his own bit of advice.
Nonetheless, Spenser kept his gaze locked on Danni and grinned when she posed her question. ”Rules are simple. Do whatever you can to be the first to eat…” Pausing, the male took a quick inventory of how many cookies were left. Considering he had been snacking on the chocolaty delights all day, about half the package was gone. Taking a quick guess at how many were left, Spenser finished his thought. ”ten cookies. Winner gets an undetermined prize.” Smirking to himself, Spenser reached into the package and pulled out the plastic container. Counting out the required amount of cookies, the male split the cookies into two piles; one for himself and one for Danni.
Cookie eating competitions were his specialty; there was no way he was going to lose.
