Grace, Tegan « Thread Started on Aug 31, 2008, 11:51pm »
Tegan Grace
basic information;
full name: tegan grace. nicknames: T, teeg, teacup [ONLY if you're her brother.] age: 17 grade: junior gender: feeeemale. sexuality: straight as an arrow.
their inner beauty;
personality: What exactly is it that makes a person who they are? It may be their parents- Tegan's sure did have an impact on her, giving her both her looks- thanks mom- and her overwhelming sense of generosity- something else she owed completely to her mother. Her father had gifted her with an overwhelmingly keen business sense, but much to his utter disappointment, she has never had any plans to use it. Instead, she's convinced she's going to become a public defender, to save the people that can't afford to save themselves, both in and out of the courtroom.
It can't be all parents, though, can it? Neither one of Tegan's parents are flighty in the least, and yet Tegan is completely prone to just... disappearing. She's been known to just leave, go wherever it is that she's read about and wants to go or saw on TV and thinks looks cool. She's hopped on a plane and missed all sorts of things- much to her parents' and classmates' surprise, she had been on a plane to Rome during her junior year final exams- some more important than others. It seems totally and completely selfish, but when it comes down to it? More than anything, Tegan wants someone who'll go with her on these sorts of trips.
Still, flaky as she may be, Tegan's... well, she's unique. She grew up the youngest of four brothers, and she has all the psychological complexes that go along with it. She's been babied her entire life, and it took all she had just to convince her parents to let her come to a different school than her twin brother, Tyler. But she had to, she had successfully convinced her parents that she would go insane if she stuck around any longer. Maybe for them it was okay to have no identity outside of the 'parents of the football playing Grace brothers', but for Tegan... that was not okay.

appearance: Tegan is, whether she enjoys it or not, pretty. In fact, people have called her gorgeous, a few going so far as to call her beautiful. She'd blush at that, though, and tell you you were crazy- the attractive one in her family, she'd tell you, is really her brother Tyler, but she's pretty sure he dyes his hair. Maybe Taylor. But... Tegan? No, she's practically at the bottom of the list. Her entire family is disgustingly good looking. She's tall- almost 5'11- and although she eats constantly, she manages to stay relatively slim, thanks largely to cheerleading. It's a good thing, too, because her body, much to her chargrin, is the thing she gets complimented on the most. Apparently, she has 'legs that go to Canada', or something along those lines. Whatever that means. When it comes to style, though... well, contrary to popular belief, Tegan simply doesn't care. Sure, occasionally she'll rifle through her closet and look for something cute to wear. On, like, picture day. She loves to shop- what female doesn't? But she doesn't plan for particular outfits and usually when she puts a cute one together, it's an accident. Usually, though, she's in shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Tegan's from New England, and is completely used to bracing winters and chilly fall. Her theory is why not enjoy the constant summer Florida provides? She doesn't understand sweating it out in jeans when you know it's going to be hot outside. So Tegan wears what's comfortable.

history: Tegan can't say that she grew up unhappy. In no sense of the word was she ever unhappy, not really. The youngest of her family, Tegan was the only girl, and, truth be told? She was doted upon, constantly. Her closest friend was her twin brother, Tyler, and they attended the football-obsessed Rolling Hills High School together on the East Coast, Tyler seamlessly accepting the football from Thomas while Tegan picked out a pair of pom poms. They went to school together, but Tegan managed to break out and find her own friends, both on the cheerleading and soccer teams, thanks largely in part to her athleticsm. Still, she was surrounded by family, able to drop her tray at the table full of her brothers any time she wanted to, plopping down and joining in whatever discussion they had going. It was a feeling Tegan adored, one she took completely for granted.
Thomas had graduated first, Tim following a year later. Thomas's graduation had been a blow, but it had been Tim's that caused the biggest change. Tegan had, when Tom left, taken to spending more time with her soccer team and her cheerleading squad, going to more college-campus parties- especially the ones that older boys, boys at least Tim's age were throwing. The sort she shouldn't have been involved in. She managed to survive with her dignity relatively in tact, but perhaps that wasn't the best thing she could've hoped for.
She cried at Tim's graduation, and the next day she'd packed up, swiped her credit card, and boarded a first-class plane to Jamacia. It was the first of her trips, the proverbial tip of the iceberg. From then on, she was... flighty. It was really the best word for it, although others had definitely been used. She lost intrest in soccer and only just managed to hang onto her spot on the cheerleading squad, flinging herself into her relationship with Tyler, clinging to him. Eventually, though, she realized that Tyler wouldn't always be around to hold it together for her when one of her brothers moved out or moved on. That she had to learn to hold it together herself- and in order to do that, she had to be by herself.
Tegan is probably the definition of privlidged- always has been and always will be. Her father's a politician, fighting for what's right- and, admittedly, during election season, what's popular. He tends to stay out of the public eye, though, which the entire Grace family appreciates. Her mother is a professional mom, as she likes to call herself, although why, no one has any idea- her kids don't even live at home. Mostly it means she came from money and has never worked a day in her life, as far as Tegan can tell. It doesn't bother Tegan, though- as long as she's happy. And she is, along with the rest of her family. Tim at Yale, Thomas playing baseball with a semi-professional league in his off-days from the fire department, and Taylor working on his degree at the Berkley. When Tegan had headed off to Florida, she had effectively split her family into regional sections. It was tough, to be the all-american blonde-haired, blue-eyed family everyone seemed to want so badly to be, even tougher to do it from all around the country. Still, Tegan's happy in Florida, determined to prove that she doesn't, in fact, need the constant doting that she recieves from her entire family- save Tyler, of course. Tyler is the one that sees her weaknesses- it's Tyler she calls when she feels lonely, when she wants to visit someone or be visited. He is, after all, her twin.
